Some important reminders:
Dear Parent Chaperones,
- We are going to have a wonderful trip. Please meet in your child’s classroom between 7:30-7:45 for attendance. At 7:45 we will begin to load the buses. We hope to arrive around 10:00 depending on traffic
- Upon arrival, we will check in and get our admission passes. You and the students will place your lunches in a bin near where we meet for lunch. You and your group will begin exploring the museum on your own. It is impossible to see everything so have your group plan out their day and see what interests the group. Read the information, look closely and try the hands-on activities.

- Look for your classroom teacher near the bins at your group’s designated time.
- A teacher will be “on duty” with a first aid kit throughout the day near the gift shop in case you have any questions or needs.
- While parents and children will move around together throughout the day with other groups it is imperative that all children assigned to a chaperone MUST stay with that adult. The museum is large and crowded so keep your children close.
- Be sure to see Science in the Park at the Level 2 - Blue Wing. You may want to also check out the Theater of Electricity. Please check museum for times.
- Our IMAX theater program is at 1:00, Dream Big. This has been paid for along with your admission. It is a 50-minute program.
- We will begin to load the buses by 3:45 (to leave by 4:00) - NO EXCEPTIONS. Plan accordingly. You might want to visit the bathrooms (and chaperones-grab a coffee) before 3:45.
- Remember to Stay At The Museum ALL DAY.

Some important reminders:
- Wear comfortable shoes.
- Pack a peanut/tree nut free lunch, drinks AND extra snacks (so students have something to eat on the way home). Please NO food with peanuts/tree nuts.
- Please label the lunches clearly. It might be a good idea to separately pack the snack that is to be eaten on the way home.
- Check in with your teacher in the classroom as soon as you arrive so we are ready to load at 7:45am.
- If a student bring an electronic device, he or she is responsible for it and will have to leave it on the bus at his or her own risk. JLS or the bus company take no responsibility for lost or stolen items.
- Please be at school to pick up your child upon our arrival back from Boston between 6:15-6:30pm.

Homework: Week of April 30 - May 4
Homework During Our SBAC Testing
For the next two weeks, while we participate in SBAC, we will NOT have our regular homework.
SBAC Homework:
- Get PLENTY of sleep. Go to bed earlier than you usually do! (You can even surprise your parents and get into bed before they tell you to ☺
- Eat a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day!
- Spend some time outside getting fresh air after school each day. It is good for you!
- Project work: This is a perfect time to share your in-progress project work with an adult at home. You can...
- Visit the library for another book source
- Look up articles online/bring home books to read and continue to become an expert on your topic
- Share some interesting facts with a family member - teach them something new!
Thank you,
Mr. Moriarty

****Parents - Please give me at least 24 hour notice when sending in birthday treats for your child!!!!!!! This allows me to plan it into the day so that your child's celebration is not rushed. Also - PLEASE make sure any treats that are sent in are "individualized" for each student. Thank you!!
